Peru is the number one producer of alpaca fibre, and also has the best quality in the world. This is because of where the alpacas live, their nutrition and natural habitat.

The harsh environment in the Andean mountains where these alpacas live, makes their fur the most desirable fibre in the world. Luxury brands all over the world have now incorporated alpaca wool in their garments.

Alpacas are sustainable animals for the soil and for the production of garments.

As for the production of garments, unlike sheep’s wool and cotton, the fibre of alpaca doesn’t require any chemicals add-ons in its production and so it doesn’t pollute nor harm the environment.

• Gentle with the soil: Their padded feet do not harm the terrain and the natural environment.
• Easy adaptation: They can live in different climates, conditions and elevations. 
• Efficient: 1 alpaca can produce enough fibre for 9-10 dog sweaters. Cashmere can only produce a ¼ of a sweater.
• Hypoallergenic wool: Alpaca fibre pills less and it’s hypoallergenic due to the lack of any oil and lanolin.
• Natural colours: Alpaca wool comes in 22 natural colours, which reduces the need to dye. All other colours can be produced by dyeing with natural ingredients.
