Baby alpaca is low-maintenance by nature. Here's how to keep it at its best.
1. Hand wash cold
Cold water only. No heat. Use a mild, wool-safe soap.
2. Lay flat to dry
Never tumble dry. Reshape while damp, then lay flat on a clean surface.
3. Store folded
Do not hang. Hanging stretches the knit. Store folded in a cool, dry place.
4. Depill gently
Use a fabric comb or de-pilling stone if pilling occurs after wear.
Why no machine wash? The knit structure is hand-formed. Machine agitation pulls the stitches apart. Cold hand wash with a wool-safe detergent keeps the sweater at its original shape indefinitely.
Most Quni owners wash their sweater 2-3 times per season. Baby alpaca is naturally odour-resistant and does not need frequent washing.
