Every Quni sweater begins with baby alpaca fibre from a small co-operative in Arequipa, Peru. Hand-sorted, hand-spun, hand-knit by the same artisan families who have worked the fibre for generations.

Is baby alpaca from babies?

No. "Baby alpaca" refers to fibre fineness, not animal age. It is the first shearing, the softest grade.

Is this sustainable?

Made in Peru by Peruvian artisans, fair-trade. One alpaca yields 9-10 sweaters over its lifetime.

Why baby alpaca?

Three times warmer than cashmere. Hypoallergenic. Hand-knit by artisans in Peru.

Warm-weather use?

Yes. Alpaca fibre regulates temperature naturally, breathable in warm weather, insulating in cold.
